Ghana has been a member of the ILO since 1957 and has so far ratified 46 ILO Conventions. Today, the ILO remains a strategic partner to the Government and social partners in Ghana, namely, Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), Ghana Employers Association (GEA) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).

The ILO delivers Technical Cooperation assistance through its Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) in the country, which has attracted many Technical Cooperation Projects that contribute to the economic development of Ghana. Both the Ghanaian Public and Private sectors have benefited from the ILO interventions which help to boost the economic fortunes of Ghana.
